What Rein is missing
here is that game budgets are already past the point of being sustainable-- making a game that looks like their "Samaritan" demo would cost... 80 million USD? 100 million USD?
Creating a console that encourages game makers-- who already have a hard time working within their economic means for whatever reason-- to overextend themselves even further will be an ultimately self-defeating approach.
Of course, Rein is essentially just a salesman whose company needs ever-increasing technology for their current business model of engine licensing to continue to work. So you have to take anything he says with a grain of salt.
