I middle-clicked a bunch of articles, like I usually do, and hit
these two in succession.
In the first one, I read Obama's words to a crowd in Chicago,
"They [Republicans] have a simple philosophy: We are better off when everybody is left on their own, when everybody writes their own rules.".
In the next article, I read this:
"The president's budget would add $6.4 trillion in deficits between 2013 and 2022, the CBO said.".
Even if people pulled their heads out of their asses and realized that government
can't take care of you, by definition-- what sense does it make for the government to take our money and hand less of it back to us?-- the fact of the matter is that we're
flat broke. Despite Obama's best, if not misguided, intentions we simply can't survive any longer with budgets like his.
True fiscal conservatism is exactly what we need at this particular juncture. We can have all the government that we want... as long as we can
afford it.
