The Exigent Duality
Minnesota FC 0 Carolina 0 - 09:14 CDT, 4/08/12 (Sniper)
Gianni Brera used to say that the perfect football match would end 0-0, but I don't always agree-- last night's game was pretty unsatisfying, mostly because we created an absurd amount of chances but just couldn't out the ball in the back of the net.

Some examples: a swung in cross by Miguel Ibarra was flicked towards goal at the near post by Amani Walker. It had the goal keeper totally beat, but hit the wood work. A bit later, a corner kick resulted in a free header from, literally, two feet in front of goal, only for it to somehow be palmed wide by the goal keeper right on the line. And to top things off, Hlavaty missed a penalty in the second half.

In any event, it was complete and utter domination, but it was difficult to tell if that was because we're some sort of powerhouse this season, or if it was because Carolina turned over practically their entire roster. We shall see.

Ibarra won the man of the match, he was an absolute force from beginning to end-- indefatigable, super pacey, and great on the dribble. Bracalello also impressed me, it seems he's been working on his ability to link up with team mates a bit more.
