In my time following America's political arena I've found that any model-- but especially the ubiquitous "left/right" dichotomy-- that attempts to place different political ideologies and coalitions on some sort of linear plane or axis winds up being such an oversimplification as to make the model almost worthless.

So, to help in my understanding of the landscape and what the various popular ideologies have in common and in difference, and how they fit into America's veritable two-party duopoly system, I've constructed my own model. This is just revision one; I'll continue to update it as I learn more.
